Sony Walkman WM-22 in excellent condition and in full working order after service and belt change. The Walkman comes with an original Sony carry strap but no headphones. A new DeckTech belt has been fitted. Head, pinch roller and capstan have been checked and cleaned. The head has been demagnetised. Mechanism lubricated and motor oiled. Volume control pot cleaned with Deoxit. Circuit boards checked and cleaned. The play, rewind and fast forward functions are all working perfectly. The fast forward/rewind gear has been fitted with a new top hat washer and circlip as the original had split (see photos 23 & 24) – this is a common repair issue in this series of Walkmans. Playback quality is very good (watch and listen to the video). The door and rear cover show evidence of minor abrasion and there are is a small but visible surface scratch going through the’N’ of the SONY logo (see and zoom on photo 15). Other than that there are no significant scratches or marks on the door and casing. Please study all the photographs carefully and use zoom where necessary. The battery cover is intact and fully functional but the foam cushion on the underside had degraded and has been replaced. The battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. If you intend to use your own set of headphones please note the guidance in photo 25 about the type of 3.5mm jack plug that is suitable for use with this model of Walkman.
