Sony Walkman WM-24 in very good condition and in full working order after service and belt change. The Walkman comes in its original serial numbered box with its original. Sony MDR-003 Headphones. Sony Carry Strap. User Manual. Polystyrene Insert and Cardboard Cover. A new DeckTech belt has been fitted. All the catalytic capacitors have been replaced with new ones from Farnell. Head, pinch roller and capstan have been checked and cleaned. The head has been demagnetised. Mechanism lubricated and motor oiled. Volume control pot cleaned with Deoxit. Circuit boards checked and cleaned. The play, rewind and fast forward functions are all working perfectly. The fast forward/rewind gear assembly has been fitted with a new, stronger circlip as the original had failed – this is a common repair issue in this series of Walkmans. Playback quality is very good (watch and listen to the video). There is some minor paint loss on edges of the door (see photos) but overall the Walkman is in excellent condition. The rear cover has been repainted using an appropriate plastic paint. Please study all the photographs carefully and use zoom to see finer detail. The battery cover is intact and fully functional. The foam cushion on the underside had degraded and has been replaced. The battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. If you intend to use your own set of headphones please note the guidance in photo 25 about the type of 3.5mm jack plug that is suitable for use with this model of Walkman.
