This one’s in lovely used condition and now working perfectly once more. But don’t think I’ve ever had an original box in as nice a condition as this one and complete with all accessories. These often suffer from cracked gears – meaning either clicky playback or it just doesn’t play at all – this one still has it’s original gear intact and working. It’s still got all it’s original accessories including the elusive MDR4 Headphones – which also work perfectly. As with all my refurbished Walkmans you don’t have to take my work for how good they sound because I provide you with a video so you can hear for yourself. I’m not a professional sound engineer – I feed the output from the walkman into the mic input on my Canon DSLR. These are complex analogue machines in a digital world – the old belt residue must be completely and meticulously removed – otherwise the new belt will wobble causing wow and flutter. In nice used condition – see photos. Here’s a Sony Walkman WM-2 with it’s original Battery Pack and Instruction Manual. Mechanically the belt had hardened, so I’ve installed a new belt, cleaned the Head, Roller and capstan – so it now plays perfectly, in stereo, at the right speed with no wow or flutter, it rewinds and fast-forwards as it should. The volume potentiometer has been cleaned so the volume adjusts smoothly without crackle or dropout. It still has the battery cover and the battery terminals are corrosion free. This Walkman is useable on a daily basis – sounds as good as the day it was new. I have 10 years experience refurbishing 100’s of Walkmans! You get what you pay for – there won’t be any disappointment when it arrives – it will work as described! I’m not an audio engineer which is why I include a video so you can hear it play and judge for yourself. I do not extensively test these over periods of hours/days – I don’t have the time.
