This very clean Genuine GM/Delco radio was removed from a 1992 Fleetwood; at the time, this was the top-of-the-line UX1 option radio with cassette and 5-Band Equalizer option. This is the “newer” model radio that appears similar to the ones actually made starting in the early 1980s but is bit superior internally; it ALSO uses a 21-pin harness plug BUT I will include everything you need to install it in your pre-1988 model vehicle (see the last part of this paragraph for further explanation). This radio with the 21-pin connector is correct for the following front wheel drive models. Aside from being refreshed cosmetically, the cold solder joints were all reinforced, tape belt replaced and the capacitors and LED display digits repaired/replaced as needed; the backlighting on this radio is a soft-white (see 2nd-4th photos to see the backlighting illuminated). Among these other items mentioned being inspected and repaired/replaced as needed, the cassette tape path including capstan and pinch rollers were thoroughly cleaned and the head has been cleaned of oxides and the appropriate components demagnetized. Tape speed was checked and adjusted with a 440 HZ calibration tape against a frequency meter on the bench. All button and control contact surfaces were also cleaned during the inspection. All in all, the radio and cassette and works perfectly as seen being tested on the bench after the rebuild. There are some light marks on the edges of the faceplate, but these will almost all be covered/concealed when your particular model’s dash bezel is snapped over the radio once installed. ALL digital display numerals also work 100% as shown being bench-tested in the photos; it is not PERFECT like a new one would be, but works flawlessly and is VERY clean cosmetically. Having an original factory radio installed will not only rise the value of the car, but it will also score extra points when being judged at a show.
