FULL METAL BODIED WALKMAN IN FULLY. SOUNDS EXCELLENT AND MADE IN 1986. Part of my own collection. I have owned this for many years. It is in very good condition & plays cassettes perfectly. This particular one is in excellent condition with only a few age related marks throughout. The only real noticeable mark is the green printed tape direction button emblem. It has only marked the print & not the metal body. The style of the WM-F102 range fantastic, classy & ultra early 80’s. There has been no expense spared, by myself, when it comes to looking after any of my metal Walkman’s. The work done ensures that this now 37 year old Walkman will last for many more years to come. This has has the following work undertaken. Totally inspected from the inside out. The playback head has been Diamond Polished, cleaned, demagnetised & the head azimuth has been re calibrated. The capstans have been cleaned & polished. The pinch frollers have been replaced with brand new. Clutch has been replaced with brand new old stock. Amplifier capacitors have been tested. A new belt has been fitted. The playback speed has been calibrated to around 3045Hz. See final photos showing mid overhaul before rebuild. The sound from both cassette & the FM radio is very punchy & dynamic. The cassette bay looks very clean! The “AA” battery holder has no battery acid leakage or any marks at all! The DOLBY NR OFF & ON, TAPE NORMAL to CrO2/METAL, Play Direction switches & the PLAY, FF, RW & STOP buttons all work perfectly when used! The FM Radio switch works as it should, as does the radio itself. This overall is in excellent, fully working, condition. These are so rare fully working. Because I have a huge collection of Walkman’s going back to 1980! Many brand new in boxes too! I simply need to downsize my collection! A word of warning to unscrupulous buyers: All the internals of my Walkman’s have security microdots placed! These are applied within on all key component areas internally. So people who swap their none working innards for my fully overhauled, working, mint examples are always caught out if the microdots are missing on return!
