If you like vintage media like cassette and CD, but want the convenience of Bluetooth – this is your machine. Beautifully designed and engineered – this unit will sound far better than any single Bluetooth speaker. Unlike’new’ cassette mechanisms – this unit has a cassette tape mechanism that is robustly designed for superb playback from a time when Panasonic had fantastic engineering. It is superior to anything’new’ on the market today. The CD player can take 5 discs in an unusual configuration. No carousel is used and instead a multilayered tray device which saves a ton of space and looks far better (see photos). Fully inspected, cleaned, tested and refurbished. This unit is in tip-top shape and comes with added Bluetooth (fully powered). Also includes remote, antenna and manual for the Panasonic and Bluetooth. I’ve listened to this unit for hours of tape and CD play. The tape mechanism is calibrated and sounds terrific. INCLUDED are a reference CD and cassette tape of “City of Angels” as a reference. This soundtrack was carefully chosen since it includes rock, pop, blues, and classical music. Please don’t discard these (even if you don’t like the music) – especially the cassette. The reason: If you have a cassette or CD that does not play correctly try these reference media. Vintage cassettes are prone to deterioration of the magnetic tape and the plastic housing which can bind the tape of make it sound terrible. As long as these reference tape/CD play correctly, you know the machine is operating correctly. The unit has Bluetooth wired into the auxiliary input. The Bluetooth is powered by the machine and never needs to be charged. The Bluetooth can be unplugged from the auxiliary port at anytime if you want to feed another format into the machine (for instance minidisc or DAT). A manual for the Bluetooth and Panasonic are included. The Bluetooth module will need to turned on and paired. The speakers for this Panasonic are top notch and sound terrific. Each speaker includes a 4 leads with color coding (see photos) that correspond to the color coded speaker ports. I have one of these with the same Bluetooth conversion in my office and i LOVE this thing. Its the best of old and new combined.
