Boxed Sony Walkman WM-R15. This is really special – I’m a sucker for a Boxed Walkman and this boxed WM-R15 shows Sony at the peak of their powers – doesn’t the packaging show it off beautifully. Imagine spotting that on the shelf of your local Electronic store sometime in 1982 – you’d just have to have it! It’s serviced and playing as well as the day it was new and comes with the all important Belt-Clip case. As with all my refurbished Walkmans you don’t have to take my work for how good they sound because I provide you with a video so you can hear for yourself. I’m not a professional sound engineer – I feed the output from the walkman into the mic input on my Canon DSLR. These are complex analogue machines in a digital world – the old belt residue must be completely and meticulously removed – otherwise the new belt will wobble causing wow and flutter. In lovely used condition – please study the photos carefully. Mechanically the belt had completely disintegrated so a new belt has been installed – the head, rollers and capstans have been cleaned – so it now plays in stereo, at the right speed with no wow or flutter, it rewinds and fast-forwards as it should. It changes directions perfectly and plays just as well in both directions. The volume potentiometer has been cleaned, but the volume adjustment is still a little crackly until you hit the sweet spot. It plays perfectly – as good as the day it was new. Battery Contacts are corrosion free and the battery cover is present. The box is in fantastic condition. I have 10 years experience refurbishing 100’s of Walkmans! You get what you pay for – there won’t be any disappointment when it arrives – it will work as described!
