Please read entire description! This was many hours of careful disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly for a tape deck that functions better than it has in decades, if not more so than new! Some of the tasks performed include: -Entire tape transport was completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, re-lubed/re-greased, and reassembled. Bearing oil was used where it should be, and silicone based grease was used where it was supposed to be. Diligent and precise???? This radio needed a new belt. It was replaced with a SPECIFIC sized, quality belt from a small business source I use out of Washington State. NO CHEAP AMAZON “bargain assortments” used here. Accurately measured, accurately replaced, for YEARS of worry free play time. See picture of parts bin, with all parts laid out for cleaning! (Parts bin not included in sale) -All chassis and metal parts were cleaned and scrubbed with either isopropyl alcohol, hot soapy water, or both. All circuit boards inspected for cracked solder joints/broken copper traces, etc. Tuner knob freed from being completely seized. New long life tuner light bulb was added. Left and right channel preamp potentiometers properly adjusted. They were either slightly off from factory, or a previous owner possibly adjusted them? There’s black rubber bullet style connectors for 80 and 81, etc. And then there’s gray plastic connectors that came along around 83 and up. Seeing as how this radio will fit in a multitude of different Ford vehicles spanning from the 70s cars to mid 80s trucks, I intentionally left them bare. However, all wires have been tinned with solder, ready to add the connection of your choosing. PLEASE NOTE These are low wattage radios!! Not designed to hook up 4 speakers in parallel. Using 4 ohm speakers is safe if you ONLY USE 2 of them, one left, one right. If you try to add 2 more (such as a Bronco setup) then the speakers need to be 8ohm, and wired in series. This is what Ford did back then, with a shared common negative. (See attached photo for wiring reference) Please use caution when hooking up this radio, as I can’t be held responsible if you blow an amp circuit. Thank you for looking! You are considering a very fine unit.
