Olympia or 208 was the first cassette player launched by Becker for auto applications. It was an add on to their existing line of radios. The cassette plugs on the back of any Becker Radio Stereo (Europa II or Grand Prix Stereo) from late 1968 – late 1978. It was designed in 1965 and validated to work with the cassette from that period which had 18um tape – thick tape. Due to condition and wear out, even parts were replaced the functionality it is not guaranteed. It remains a rare, collectible piece of radio memorabilia. This particular cassette was refurbished as follows. Bulb replaced – 1pc. Mechanisms adjusted and Oiled. Belts replaced – 2pcs. Plays decent – but not very well – cassettes from the period. Included in the sale. 1 Becker Flyer – copy. I recommend pro installation but… For the ambitious handy ones I can – reasonably – help you with some pointers to install it.
