Blue Sony Walkman WM-22 in very good condition and in full working order after refurbishment. The Walkman comes with a carry strap but no headphones. A new DeckTech belt has been fitted. Head, pinch roller and capstan have been checked and cleaned. The head has been demagnetised. Mechanism lubricated and motor oiled. Volume control pot cleaned with Deoxit. Circuit boards checked and cleaned. The play, rewind and fast forward functions are all working perfectly. The fast forward/rewind gear has been fitted with a new top hat washer and circlip as the original had split (see photos 23 & 24) – this is a common repair issue in this series of Walkmans. One of the small drive gear cogs had also split and has been replaced. Playback quality is very good. The door and rear cover show evidence of abrasion and a few minor surface scratches (see and zoom on photos 2,3 and 9 in particular). Please study all the photographs carefully using zoom to see finer details. The battery cover is intact but is from another unit and the colour has faded. If preferred it can be replaced with a good quality black 3D printed copy. The battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. If you intend to use your own set of headphones please note the guidance in photo 25 about the type of 3.5mm jack plug that is suitable for use with this model of Walkman.
