Moreover, one has Dolby for Dolby encoded auditions, the other is versatile, full control on the main unit, counter, speed adjust so they practically complete each other as a set. Anyhow for avid listeners is recommended to use a few units in rotation to avoid. Wear (are still 20-30 years old devices).. Features the easy to use / innovative LCD remote control with backlight, working on both units. Jog dial one button operation (like EX2000 – whom it shares the mechanism and partially the electronics, EX-910). Integrated stereo & autoreverse recording capability, either from radio tuner or from external microphone for GX788. 25+ hours continuous tape playback with the 1350 mAh. Original battery alone (both models). Dolby B noise reduction for EX921. 16X FAST FORWARD/REWIND for. Very good frequency response interval for playback -> 40 – 15 kHz for GX788. 30 – 18 kHz for EX921. 100 -> 8k Hz recoding frequency interval (focused on voice, radio stereo music sounds pretty decent tough), automatic recording level, only type I tapes (GX788). Fine playback speed control (GX788). Ability to record / play at half the speed (GX788) – rendering almost 240 minutes of recording for one 120 minutes tape, both sides. Automatic tape type selection for (both models). Equipped with Revive, Mega Bass, Groove sound modes (both models). Battery level indicator on the remote display and main unit (GX788). 9 songs AMS (both models). 3 digit tape counter display on main unit (GX788). Auto rewind play – plays current side from the beginning (REW pressed for two seconds during stop / idle). AVLS – automatic volume limiter system – prevents hearing damage and distortion at high volumes of some music types. The units are refurbished meaning complete disassembly, deep cleaning of all components and chassis. New oil for all plastic to metal & metal to metal friction points (capstans, gears, motor), v aseline on hinges and door guides. New rubber belts fitted. Exhaustive clean of all the belt grooves / guidance to reduce flutter to a minimum. Deep clean of the pinch rollers (change was not required) and soak in rubber conditioner fluid for 24 hours. Cleaning of the potentiometers and switches (including remote) with contact cleaner. Treating the remote & HP cord with rubber / plastic conditioner to regain flexibility and shine. Tape path checked with SONY MC-112C mirror cassette. Speed checked and adjusted TEAC test tape MTT-211NA. Demagnetized with Sony HE-3. Near perfect look and perfect functioning order. Recording tests (mic & tuner), perfect. Tested several hours with various tape types and brands, working perfectly. Main body EX921 + GX788 (printed user documentation is included). RM-WME23L remote assembly works perfectly on both units. Two new rechargeable batteries 1400 mAh tested one deep cycle. New USB charging unit (universal), can be used at home / car / travel with any USB 5V power adapter (500 & 1000 mA selectable – 500 recommended for the prismatic 7 / 5F6 batteries), auto cut-off when fully charged, all set of protections (reverse polarity / temperature / overcharge / short circuit). OEM AA battery case with 1,5 mm power input port. Charging stand, with one USB powered custom made cable, can be placed virtually anywhere an USB port is in vicinity. 2 x custom made carrying pouches, microfiber.
