It is the first model to break 100 hours of playback using 1350 mAh NiMh battery and an alkaline one. This bundle, like the others I have / had listed are customer friendly in terms of price, accessory set delivered and the fact that both units can share same remote. The other is versatile, full control on the main unit, so they practically complete each other as a set. Anyhow for avid listeners is recommended to use a few units in rotation to avoid excessive wear (are still 20-30 years old devices).. They feature the easy to use / innovative LCD remote control with jog dial, working on both units. 30+ hours continuous tape playback with the 1350 mAh rechargeable original battery. Dolby B noise reduction for both models. Very good frequency response interval for playback -> 40 – 15 kHz for FX877. 30 – 18 kHz for EX678. Automatic tape type selection for (both models). Equipped with Revive, Mega Bass, Groove sound modes (both models). Battery level indicator on the remote display and main unit. 9 songs AMS (both models). Blank skip (both models). 16X FAST FORWARD/REWIND due to the multiphase motor employed in EX9. Auto rewind play – plays current side from the beginning (REW pressed for two seconds during stop / idle). Skip reverse function – play the other side from the beginning (FF pressed for two seconds during stop / idle). AVLS – automatic volume limiter system – prevents hearing damage and distortion at high volumes of some music types. The units are refurbished meaning complete disassembly, deep cleaning of all components and chassis. New oil for all plastic to metal & metal to metal friction points (capstans, gears, motor), v aseline on hinges and door guides. New rubber belts fitted. Exhaustive clean of all the belt grooves / guidance to reduce flutter to a minimum. Deep clean of the pinch rollers (change was not required) and soak in rubber conditioner fluid for 24 hours. Cleaning of the potentiometers and switches (including remote) with contact cleaner. Treating the remote & HP cord with rubber / plastic conditioner to regain flexibility and shine. Tape path checked with SONY MC-112C mirror cassette. Speed checked and adjusted TEAC test tape MTT-211NA. Demagnetized with SONY HE-3. Near perfect look and perfect functioning order. Tested several hours with various tape types and brands, working perfectly. Main body EX9 + FX877. RM-WMF21 remote assembly works perfectly on both units (no backlit). Sony Cassette Walkman WM-EX9 It is a rare Majora color. I’ve done some maintenance such as replacing the belt. There are scratches and dirt. It’s hard to see in the photo, but there are some dents on the cassette lid side. Earphones can use ordinary 3-pole 3.5mm stereo mini plugs. To use it, you need a gum type battery or a battery box. Gum-shaped batteries and chargers are available on Amazon and elsewhere. We cannot guarantee the sound quality of a new product or trouble shooting. Since it is an old one, it may break down soon. The exhibit is only the main body. Since the volume can only be adjusted in 3 steps without the genuine remote control, an extension cord that can adjust the volume is attached as a bonus.
