For Sale: Here i have my Sony WM-7 Walkman, This was the worlds first portable cassette player with Auto reverse functionality! The WM-7 is arguably the most complex of all the Walkman models. It was the first to have electronic logic tape transport keys and the first to offer remote control. It is also the only model to have 3 motors, though only one of them is used for tape transport. The introduction of the WM-7 brought several new features to the Walkman range. As well as the electronic controls, it featured auto-reverse, Dolby B noise reduction and a hold function that blocked all the keys when set. For a portable unit this one is in excellent condition, both mechanically and visually – Please bear in mind that this model is approaching 40 years of age. Everything works as it should, the only negative i noticed was that one of the direction LED’s was out, but that could be because i was using’one direction’ only… Other than this everything is perfect. This is a solid metal construction, and is of its time in size! If you want something to put in your back packet then this is not for you Unless you have enormous pockets of course! The condition is certainly good enough to be the star in a collection. The battery compartment has no nasties, and never had leaking batteries held in there. This particular unit had a complete strip down and rebuild around 18 – 24 months ago, and i have only used it a couple of times to keep it running. Any questions feel free to ask. Fully restored Sony WM-7. First ever Autoreverse player with soft touch buttons. It is in fully working order. It was completely disassembled, cleaned from old oil and grease and re-lubricated. New belt and pinch rollers have been replaced with new parts. All electrolytic capacitors were replaced with high end Audio Grade Nichicon and Elna Silmic II, and provides a very powerful and punchy sound. Battery compartment is very clean, no acid leak. Battery cover is present. All LED’s are working. The player is in very good condition considering its age. There are some scratches on the cassette door window and back.
