Head and capstan have been checked and cleaned. The head has been demagnetised. Mechanism lubricated and motor oiled. Volume control pot cleaned with Deoxit. Circuit boards checked and cleaned. The play, rewind and fast forward functions are all working perfectly. The fast forward/rewind gear has been fitted with a new top hat washer and circlip as the original had split (see photos 23 & 24) – this is a common repair issue in this series of Walkmans. Playback quality is very good (watch and listen to the video). The door and rear cover show evidence of abrasion. There is some crazing visible at some angles on the window (see and zoom on photos 9 & 12). There are several faint surface scratches on the rear cover (see photo 17 in particular). Please study all the photographs carefully using zoom to see finer details. The battery cover was missing and has been replaced with a well-fitting 3D printed copy. The battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion.
