A beautiful mid-80s cassette player / recorder by Onkyo. All belts are new. The problematic bias knobs that plague these units were replaced with modern high reliability units. This is a fully featured three head deck, with a futuristic and classy look. You certainly don’t see those rosewood side panels every day! The mechanism is by Sankyo – they also built the internals for Nakamichi decks of the era. If this were a Nakamichi it would cost a lot more – but it isn’t. This is a Good Thing. This unit apparently got very little use – but there are a few nicks and marks. Pictured is a scratch on the front faceplate; as well as a rough spot on the top of the right side wood panel. Nothing outrageous, the unit presents very well. I take pride in my work and would like you to receive it in good condition. It was cleaned on the inside and outside, 2 new BELTS installed, cassette mechanics cleaned and cassette heads cleaned. Don’t be fooled by people that only replacing the easy drive pully. If one belt is bad the other more difficult belt is bad too. This cassette player works beautifully and sounds great. This sale is for an Onkyo TA-630DM cassette Deck in excellent condition and in proper working order. The deck has been professionally serviced and calibrated by Kelly Wilson of Excalibur Audio. The quality recording from this unit will outshine most 3 head decks. Disasembled and cleaned mechanism, replaced belts. Rebuilt recording oscillator and boosted frequency to 95khz. This gives the deck better high frequency response specs and adds. Another 1khz to the top end response. This is good (ie) better than original. Deck has had a complete re-calibration and is calibrated for TDK SA for. CRO2 and Maxell UR for normal bias tape. Records and plays back very well. Type: 2-head, single compact cassette deck. Track System: 4-track, 2-channel stereo. Tape Speed: 4.8 cm/s. Heads: 1 x record/playback, 1 x erase. Motor: PLL servo DC. Tape Type: type I, CrO2, Metal. Frequency Response: 30Hz to 20kHz.
